Teacher development

We recognise that in order to continually improve standards, we need to continually invest in the development of our teachers. We believe that development doesn’t begin or end with formal training courses, but is dependent on the opportunities to extend your skills, have new experiences and develop behaviours within school that will help you to progress to whatever heights you wish.

Our HIAS (Havering Inspection & Advisory Service) team have developed over time, a robust and demand led training programme for teachers of all stages in their careers. Our NQT programmes through to our Aspiring Leaders courses (of which there are many) are highly regarded and are under constant review to ensure we are meeting the needs of the teachers in our care.

The majority of programmes are delivered in our recently built, state of the art training facilities, located within the borough at CEME, Rainham.

To find out more about the various courses we offer teachers, please contact the HIAS team on 01708 433813.
