Support Staff development

Our schools are employing an increasing number of support staff in more varied and extended roles, including personal administrative assistants for teachers, additional technical support, new managers from outside education, cover supervisors and higher level teaching assistants.

To meet the demands of these new and extended roles, there is work being undertaken at local and national level to provide development opportunites and progression routes for support staff, offering them the opportunity to upskill in their current role, as well as progress from, for example, junior support roles all the way through to becoming a fully qualified teacher or School Buisness Manager through one of the many employment based routes.

For more information on training and development opportunities, please contact HIAS on 01708 433813.
