In Havering we actively encourage teachers to aspire towards leadership and management and have various needs-led programmes to assist teachers to reach their desired goals. Development begins with the NQT programme and following on from this there are many programmes of development locally and nationally available.
We believe that talent is grown from within and the culture within our schools enables teachers to take on new challenges, presents opportunities to gain experience and nurtures individual attributes to produce successful, confident leaders.
Once you are a school leader or manager, the support doesn’t stop there. We have many induction and mentoring & coaching programmes available as well as ongoing support from the local authority and other colleagues, including development opportunities to enable you to continually gain new skills and take on new challenges.
