Extended Schools

Government Vision

Extended schools will provide a range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of children, their families and the wider community.

Reconfiguring, co-locating and facilitating easier access to services around the places where children and young people spend much of their time is key to and leads to improved outcomes for children and families.

What’s happening in Havering

In Havering we are making excellent progress in establishing extended services around schools and are continuing to work towards the government’s vision for the future.

For staff, both working with Children at present, and those looking to enter the profession, many new and varied job opportunities will evolve over the next few years accompanied by various training opportunities to enable you to become specialists in their chosen field.

For more details regarding extended schools please contact: HIAS (Havering Inspection and Advisory Service) on 01708 433813 or visit Havering Council website (link below).
